A Mongolian doctor is leading a campaign to collect 100,000 signatures in support of a law to regulate the use of trans fats, aiming to protect public health. Research indicates that industrially produced trans fats increase the risk of cardiovascular diseases, obesity, diabetes, and other non-communicable illnesses, prompting many countries to implement legal restrictions. The proposed law would control trans fat content in food products, improve labeling, refine import regulations, and ensure accurate public information. The initiative emphasizes that trans fats are synthetically produced by adding hydrogen to vegetable oils and are not naturally occurring, accumulating in the body and contributing to health problems. Currently, over 7,000 signatures have been collected, with a goal of reaching 100,000 to present the proposal to Parliament. Healthcare professionals, students, and citizens are encouraged to volunteer and join this public health movement.
