Scientists at CEITEC VUT in Brno have developed microscopic robots with the potential to improve beer production and food safety. These magnetically controlled "biobots" can stir liquids during fermentation, accelerating the brewing process. They also facilitate faster fermentation and automatically separate from the final product after completion. The research, led by Martin Pumery and published in ACS Nano, highlights a novel approach to optimizing food and beverage production. This technology could significantly reduce production times and enhance quality control measures within the industry. The biobots offer a targeted and efficient solution for processes requiring precise manipulation at a microscopic level. This breakthrough represents a promising step towards advanced automation in food science.
