Grilled meat itself isn't inherently unhealthy, however, high temperatures and smoke from fat drippings can create potentially harmful compounds. Research indicates that Heterocyclic Amines (HCAs) and Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs) form when meat is charred or burned during grilling. These compounds are being studied for their potential to damage cells and negatively impact health. While enjoying grilled foods is common, understanding these risks is crucial for mindful consumption. Reducing exposure involves controlling grilling temperatures, minimizing char, and trimming excess fat. Further research is ongoing to fully understand the long-term effects of HCAs and PAHs from grilled meat.
