Sales of sparkling wine in the Czech Republic have seen significant year-on-year growth in recent years, though largely dominated by foreign imports. In response, the Wine Fund of the Czech Republic developed a national sparkling wine brand, “Bublinky” (Bubbles), now in its second year. Production of wines under the “Bublinky” label has doubled since last year, with 35 wineries currently participating. The Wine Fund is promoting the brand with its annual “Den Bublinek” (Day of Bubbles) event, launching the summer season for sparkling wine consumption. This year’s event will be held on June 19th at Moravské náměstí (Moravian Square) in Brno. The initiative aims to bolster domestic production and compete with imported sparkling wines.
