Singaporean beauty chain DNA Brands will issue over S$1 million in refunds to customers following an investigation by the Competition and Consumer Commission of Singapore (CCS). The CCS probe revealed DNA Brands employed undue pressure tactics during sales, leading to a high volume of customer complaints. Between August 2024 and October 2025, over 53 complaints – totaling more than S$980,000 in disputed transactions – were filed against the company. These complaints centered on aggressive sales practices and difficulties cancelling treatments or obtaining refunds. As part of the agreement with CCS, DNA Brands will implement a comprehensive refund scheme to address the affected customers. The CCS emphasized the importance of fair trading practices and protecting consumers from manipulative sales techniques. This case underscores the commission’s commitment to vigilantly enforcing consumer protection laws.
