The Indonesian Ombudsman (ORI) has established an online complaint post to monitor the registration and issuance of halal certificates in Indonesia. This initiative aims to oversee both the self-declare (independent) and regular schemes for halal certification. The monitoring period will span from October onwards. The Ombudsman seeks to ensure proper service delivery throughout the halal certification process. This action responds to the recent implementation of new regulations regarding halal certification requirements across Indonesia. Citizens can now lodge complaints related to perceived issues or deficiencies in the process through the online platform. The ORI anticipates this will enhance transparency and accountability within the system.
