The West African Health Organisation (WAHO) is introducing Health Service User Support Centres in Benin, The Gambia, and Togo. These centres will provide patients with dedicated spaces to voice complaints and concerns regarding their healthcare experiences. The initiative aims to bolster the quality and safety of health services across the three West African nations. By directly addressing patient feedback, WAHO intends to strengthen accountability within healthcare systems. This project represents a significant step towards patient-centered care in the region. Ultimately, the goal is to improve overall health outcomes by ensuring patient perspectives are integrated into healthcare improvements. The centres will serve as a key mechanism for patient empowerment and system refinement.
