Scholars from Vietnam and the Global South often rely on Western theoretical frameworks when addressing local issues. This approach presents obstacles to meaningful participation in global academic conversations. Utilizing exclusively Western perspectives can limit the unique contributions of non-Western researchers. The text highlights a common trend where scholars from developing nations find themselves navigating the complexities of applying foreign theories to indigenous contexts. This reliance can inadvertently marginalize local knowledge and hinder the development of genuinely global perspectives. Overcoming this challenge requires fostering theoretical innovation rooted in local experiences and promoting diverse voices within international academic circles. Ultimately, a more equitable global dialogue necessitates acknowledging and valuing the intellectual contributions from all regions.
