Significant differences in Secondary School Certificate (SSC) exam results exist between urban and rural schools in Bangladesh. A disproportionate number of schools with failing grades are located in rural areas. These underperforming institutions frequently suffer from a critical shortage of teachers, hindering the quality of education. Deficiencies in both teaching practices and effective monitoring contribute to the poor outcomes. The findings raise concerns about equitable access to quality education across the country. Addressing teacher shortages and improving pedagogical oversight are crucial for bridging this performance gap and supporting students in underserved areas. This disparity demands immediate attention from educational authorities to ensure a more level playing field for all students.
