Hundreds of Romanians dissatisfied with insurance payouts following incidents like car accidents are utilizing a lesser-known alternative to court: conciliation through Sal-Fin. Sal-Fin, a structure within the Financial Supervisory Authority (ASF), facilitates dispute resolution between policyholders and insurance companies. This process has seen a record number of claims and a significant recovery of funds, totaling over €460,000 for claimants. The conciliation process offers a faster and potentially more accessible route to resolving insurance disputes compared to traditional litigation. It provides a platform for negotiation and agreement outside of the courtroom setting. This method is proving effective in securing additional compensation for Romanians who felt undercompensated by their insurers. The ASF aims to promote awareness of Sal-Fin as a viable option for resolving insurance claims.
