Port Moresby food businesses are now legally required to adhere to Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) standards, according to a recent announcement by the National Capital District Commission (NCDC). The new regulations, enforced by the NCDC’s Environmental Health officer Gwen Navara, aim to improve food safety across the city. Large-scale food operations must submit comprehensive HACCP plans detailing their safety protocols. Smaller food outlets are required to implement and provide food safety plans. The move signifies a strengthened commitment to public health and consumer protection within the National Capital District. Details of the enforcement were released by the Post Courier.
