New regulations taking effect July 1st will allow airline passengers in Vietnam to request a full refund for flights delayed four hours or more due to the airline’s fault, a reduction from the previous five-hour threshold. The updated rules aim to better protect passenger rights in cases of significant flight disruptions. The decree, number 208, addresses passenger compensation for delays and cancellations. Details regarding the performance of various airlines and which ones experience the most frequent delays and cancellations are also being examined under the new regulations. This change is expected to increase accountability for airlines and provide quicker recourse for affected travelers. The regulations do not cover delays caused by unforeseen circumstances outside of the airline’s control.
