Halimah Tussa'adiyah, an information technology student at Nusa Mandiri University (UNM) in Indonesia, has secured a graphic design position at Bank Mandiri Taspen. This achievement challenges the typical perception of IT students focusing solely on coding and system development. Tussa'adiyah obtained the role through UNM’s innovative “IEP 3+1” program, which combines three years of academic study with a one-year professional internship. The program aims to provide students with practical work experience and enhance their employability. Tussa'adiyah’s success demonstrates the program’s effectiveness in opening doors to diverse career paths for IT graduates. Bank Mandiri Taspen recognized her design skills developed during the internship, leading to a full-time employment offer. This initiative highlights a growing trend of universities prioritizing practical skills alongside theoretical knowledge.
