Indonesia’s Press Council (KPI) is advocating for the integration of media and digital literacy into the national school curriculum. The proposal stems from concerns that many Indonesians lack the skills to navigate the digital world effectively. Despite the potential benefits of digital spaces, a significant portion of the population remains vulnerable to the negative consequences of digitalization. The KPI believes that equipping students with these skills will empower them to utilize digital platforms responsibly and safely. This initiative aims to shift the narrative from vulnerability to empowerment in the face of increasing online challenges. By proactively addressing digital literacy gaps, the Council hopes to foster a more informed and resilient citizenry.
