A significant portion of the Finnish population is failing to consume sufficient amounts of essential vitamins and minerals. According to the Finravinto 2017 study conducted by the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL), at least one-fifth of Finns do not meet the average requirement for vitamin E, calcium, selenium, and zinc. Even more concerning is the intake of folate, which is insufficient for two out of every three Finns. Experts warn that these nutritional gaps can lead to various health issues over time. To combat these deficiencies, specialists are providing specific dietary guidance on what to eat. The goal is to ensure that citizens receive the necessary micronutrients to maintain long-term health.
