A recent report reveals significant compliance gaps among food service providers in Central Java, Indonesia. Of the 4,635 registered nutritional fulfillment units (SPPG), only 575 have obtained halal certification. Furthermore, 715 SPPGs currently operating lack the necessary Hygiene and Sanitation Feasibility Certificate (SLHS). This indicates a substantial portion of food services are operating without full regulatory adherence regarding both religious standards and public health. Authorities are addressing the issue, aiming to improve food safety and consumer confidence. The lack of certification raises concerns about food quality and adherence to established standards within the province. Efforts are underway to encourage and facilitate SPPGs in obtaining the required certifications.
