The National Communication Council (CNC) of Cameroon has imposed severe sanctions following an extraordinary session held on September 29th. The decisions stem from the examination of four cases, most notably concerning the L'Anecdote group and its channel, Vision 4. The core issue revolves around coverage of the Martinez Zogo judicial procedure, specifically a report aired on June 2nd, 2026, on Vision 4’s 8 pm news broadcast. The CNC determined the report contained statements damaging to the dignity of lawyer Félicité Esther Zeifman. Initial sanctions in August 2026 – a three-month suspension for the journalist and a warning for the media group’s Director General – were not implemented, escalating the issue. Furthermore, during the “Club d'élites” program on Vision 4 on August 30th, 2026, the CNC’s authority was directly challenged with the statement “...we don’t care about the CNC.” As a result, Vision 4 has been suspended, and Boni Philippe and Fouda Abega have been sanctioned.
