Following recent earthquakes in Venezuela, World Central Kitchen (WCK) swiftly initiated a response, activating operations on the very day of the tremors. The organization, founded in 2010 after the Haiti earthquake, established a field kitchen in Naiguatá and mobilized local restaurants and volunteers. WCK is currently producing up to 50,000 meals daily for families, those affected by the disaster, and rescue workers. Chef José Andrés and his team are on the ground, focusing not only on immediate food provision but also on building local capacity for future needs. This mission aims to nourish communities and provide a beacon of hope amidst the devastation. WCK's efforts signify a commitment to long-term support beyond immediate emergency relief.
