The US has conducted new airstrikes in Iran in response to a drone attack on a military base in Jordan that killed two American soldiers and injured several others. The strikes targeted areas near the Strait of Hormuz, including near the cities of Sirik, Bandar Abbas, and Qeshm, with explosions reported in those locations. Simultaneously, a base of the Kurdish Freedom Party (PAK) in Erbil, Iraq, was also attacked, resulting in multiple injuries. These actions come amidst a broader conflict that has resulted in sixteen American service members killed and over 400 wounded since February. Furthermore, Iran's supreme leader has suspended a recent agreement with the US, citing repeated violations by the American side and questioning the value of any agreement signed by former President Trump. The escalating tensions follow a week of increased hostility and contribute to further instability in the Middle East.
