Following a recent court ruling in Sweden’s largest environmental case involving waste management company Think Pink, the municipality of Eskilstuna anticipates a lengthy cleanup process. Approximately 20,000 bales of waste were illegally dumped outside the city by the company. Officials estimate it will take at least two years to remove all the waste material. The municipality plans to transport around 800 bales per month. David Aronsson, head of Eskilstuna’s environmental protection unit, confirmed the projected timeline. This follows a legal battle concerning the controversial waste disposal practices of Think Pink. The ruling compels the company to address the environmental consequences of its actions, including the substantial cleanup effort.
