Tanzania National Parks (TANAPA) has significantly increased the number of women in senior leadership roles, rising to 37 percent. This represents a substantial increase from 22.6 percent five years prior. The current figure surpasses the global average of less than 28 percent for women holding top decision-making positions. This achievement demonstrates progress in gender equality within Tanzania’s conservation sector. TANAPA’s efforts highlight a commitment to diversifying leadership and promoting inclusivity. The gains are considered a positive step for the organization and for women’s representation in traditionally male-dominated fields within the country.
