Taiwan’s Ministry of Health and Welfare’s National Health Administration announced the nationwide deployment of 431 e-cigarette recycling bins starting September 8th. This initiative follows a grace period implemented after new regulations regarding e-cigarettes took effect. The aim is to address the environmental concerns and health risks associated with improper disposal of vaping devices. Individuals found possessing e-cigarettes after the transition period may face fines up to NT$100,000 (approximately US$3,100). The administration emphasizes the importance of responsible disposal to prevent nicotine contamination and battery hazards. This program is a key component of Taiwan's efforts to reduce vaping prevalence, particularly among young people. The new regulations also include stricter controls on the sale and marketing of e-cigarettes.
