Alternative dispute resolution (ADR) for consumer disputes has been part of the legal system in Czechia for over a decade. According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, it has become a significant tool for protecting consumers and offering an accessible alternative to court proceedings. ADR allows consumers, believing they have been harmed by a business or that a business has failed to meet its obligations, to initiate proceedings aimed at reaching a mutually agreeable settlement. The process provides a pathway to resolve issues without the complexities and costs associated with traditional litigation. This out-of-court option is increasingly favoured for its speed and simplicity in handling consumer-business disagreements within the Czech Republic. It represents a growing trend towards more accessible justice for citizens.
