A police operation in Cambérène 1, Senegal, resulted in the seizure of 67 decoders and extensive transmission equipment linked to alleged unauthorized broadcasting of television channels. Babacar Diop, known as "Mbaye Laye TV", has been formally charged in connection with the case. The investigation was initiated following complaints regarding the illegal capture and distribution of signals from companies including Canal+ International, StarTimes, beIN Sports and SuperSport International. Investigators traced the activity to a building in the Mbane quarter of Cambérène 1, distributing channels throughout Cambérène, Parcelles Assainies (Units 1-26) and parts of Golf-Sud. Police recovered equipment including decoders, optical receivers, distribution boxes, amplifiers, solar batteries, racks, modems, and multiswitches. All equipment has been impounded as evidence. Diop initially claimed to be working in Thiès but promised to appear when he returned.
