Senegalese lawmaker Thierno Alassane Sall has publicly responded to a new legal complaint filed against him by AEE POWER EPC, a company involved in a 37 billion CFA franc public contract dispute. Sall alleges that individuals connected to the case used public funds to pay for foreign legal counsel, specifically in Côte d’Ivoire and other nations. He claims these actors are attempting to profit from “disappeared” funds and characterizes them as “vampires.” Sall further asserts that AEE POWER EPC is not cooperating with investigations in Spain, where part of the case is also being pursued. He criticizes the legal proceedings, arguing that he is being targeted while key responsibilities in the matter remain unclear. The lawmaker also highlighted the continued hardship faced by citizens lacking electricity due to the stalled project, urging the Senegalese justice system to expedite the case.
