Romania’s government, led by Prime Minister Vestea, has collapsed after failing to secure a vote of confidence in Parliament. Liberal Party (PNL) officials Dan Motreanu and Robert Sighiartău condemned the government’s failure, accusing it of betrayal and blaming the Social Democratic Party (PSD) for instigating the political crisis. Motreanu stated that the government lost the vote despite attempts to gain support from the far-right AUR party. Sighiartău specifically called for the resignation of Sorin Grindeanu, whom he identified as a key figure responsible for the crisis. Both PNL representatives are requesting President Iohannis to initiate new consultations to resolve the political deadlock. The failed vote marks a significant escalation of tensions and uncertainty in Romanian politics after 48 days in power.
