Local officials have condemned the action, stating the deceased should have remained at Dubbeldam, respecting families’ choices for final resting places. The city is now contacting families of those buried between 1997 and 2003 at Dubbeldam, as identifying the specific remains is proving difficult, and plans to return the bodies to Dubbeldam for reburial.
