Poland is investing 4.1 billion złoty (€957 million) from the National Recovery Plan (KPO) into digitalizing its healthcare system, aiming to streamline processes and reduce missed appointments. Currently, approximately 1.5 million scheduled appointments in 2024 went unused, causing inconvenience for patients and inefficiency for medical facilities. This digital transformation focuses on modernizing hospitals and the National Center for Electronic Health (Centrum e-Zdrowia). The goal is to improve appointment booking, documentation access, and consultations. Patients currently face repetitive questioning when calling different clinics to secure appointments, highlighting the need for a centralized, digital system. The investment aims to address this issue by creating a more organized experience for both patients and staff in clinics across Poland.
