The World Bank has cautioned that increasing fuel prices in Nigeria could hinder the country’s progress in reducing poverty. The report also expresses concern that increased pre-election spending may jeopardize ongoing economic reforms within Nigeria. Despite these challenges, the World Bank has revised Nigeria’s economic growth forecast upwards to 4.3% for 2026. However, they project an inflation rate of 15.7% for Nigeria in the same year. The World Bank’s analysis highlights a complex economic outlook for Nigeria, balancing potential growth with significant risks.
