A large-scale housing project, “Selbe,” is underway in the 14th district of Songinokhairkhan and Chingeltei districts of Ulaanbaatar, encompassing 158 hectares. The project will include 8,575 apartments across 113 blocks, alongside essential infrastructure like five schools, eight kindergartens, four family clinics, and recreational facilities. Construction is currently 36.7% complete, with around 1,700 workers and significant machinery deployed daily. The development utilizes high-quality materials, including copper piping, triple-glazed windows, and advanced insulation. Funding for the ₮1.6 trillion project comes from overseas bonds, and homes will be offered through varied financial schemes like mortgages, rent-to-own, and cooperative ownership. Completion of the residential area is targeted for 2027, with full operation of public service areas expected by 2028-2030. The project aims to address housing needs and improve urban living standards in the capital city.
