Construction of a cable car line connecting Yarmag and Kharkhorin is nearing completion, with approximately 75% of the first phase finished. Installation of connecting cables was finalized in April-May, and preparation for the installation of communication cables is underway. City officials announced test runs will commence in September, with six months of operation without passengers following cabin and tower assembly. The proposed fare is 3,000 Mongolian Tugrik, with projections indicating profitability by 2030. Once operational, the cable car will reduce travel time between Yarmag and Kharkhorin to 11 minutes, accommodating ten passengers per cabin. Studies suggest the cable car could decrease traffic volume on the route by approximately 1%, reducing around 1,000 vehicles daily. The project is a collaboration between French engineers from the Poma Group and Mongolian firms Monnis Engineering and Tsagaan Uran Hiits.
