Bharatpur Hospital in Chitwan, Nepal, has returned to providing regular medical services after a challenging period managing the devastating aftermath of recent floods. The hospital was overwhelmed with 321 bodies recovered from the disaster zone. Faced with a severely strained morgue capacity, staff worked tirelessly to manage the situation. Over two days, 199 of the recovered bodies were respectfully buried, significantly easing the pressure on the hospital's resources. This allowed Bharatpur Hospital to shift its focus back to treating patients and resuming normal operations. The rapid response and efficient handling of the deceased were crucial in enabling the hospital's restoration of essential healthcare services. The situation highlights the challenges faced by healthcare facilities during large-scale natural disasters.
