Mongolia's export revenue has increased 3.4 times over the past decade, reaching $15.7 billion in 2025 and $16.6 billion in the first nine months of this year—a 54% increase year-over-year. The country’s foreign currency reserves reached a historic high of $8.9 billion at the end of September, stabilizing the exchange rate. Government officials discussed measures to alleviate congestion near the Gashuunsukhait border crossing, expedite cross-border railway connections at Shiveekhuren-Sekhe and Khangi-Mandal, and implement automated customs systems at Bulgan and Bichigt border crossings by late 2026. The government also aims to accelerate the procurement process for a digital trade portal. Mineral exports—copper concentrate, coal, iron ore, and oil—are exceeding projections, while non-mineral exports, including wool, cashmere, and leather, have also shown significant growth. However, meat and meat product exports have slightly decreased.
