Mongolia’s “East and West Foods” LLC has officially opened the country’s first meat processing plant certified to international Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards. The facility, inaugurated on June 18, 2026, has a processing capacity of 20 tons per day and 5,280 tons annually. Funding for the plant’s construction came from HasBank, alongside financial support from the Asian Development Bank’s Agriculture and Rural Development Fund in 2024 and a loan from the “Agricultural Sustainable Production Support” initiative, part of the President of Mongolia’s “Food Revolution” in 2025. The plant will supply pre-processed meat products, including marinated steaks and pre-cut portions, to meet growing consumer demand for convenient, high-quality food. The GMP certification ensures strict quality and safety controls throughout the entire production process, from raw material intake to distribution. This addresses a rising consumer need for safe, nutritious food options amid increasingly busy lifestyles.
