The Court of Appeals has fully exonerated the executives of the company Transcambio, finding no coordination or illegal connection with operations abroad. Simultaneously, the court confirmed the responsibility of Jonestur’s leadership for channeling suspicious funds through accounts in Andorra and condominiums in Miami. The judges criticized the lack of accounting expertise and reports from the Central Bank during 12 years of legal proceedings. This decision effectively clears the Transcambio executives of charges related to money laundering. However, the ruling maintains the culpability of Jonestur’s management regarding the financial activities linked to Andorra and Miami properties. The court’s critique highlights significant shortcomings in the initial investigation’s methodology. As a result, embargoes linked to the Transcambio executives have been reduced.
