An internal inspection by the Czech Ministry of Defence has identified mistakes made by both the chief of staff of Defence Minister Jaromír Zůna and the head of the General Staff’s communication department regarding a non-public interview with President Petr Pavel. The inquiry, reported by Aktuálně.cz on Friday, investigated the circumstances surrounding the unpublished conversation. However, the investigation did not find evidence that the Ministry of Defence ordered the interview to be suppressed, nor did it substantiate claims of deliberate censorship. The focus of the findings centers on procedural errors in the handling of the interview’s release. The General Staff has not yet issued a public statement regarding the inspection’s results. The inquiry suggests missteps in internal communication and approval processes, rather than intentional obstruction.
