Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have discovered a Hezbollah drone factory and launch site concealed within a mountain in south Lebanon, near the Israeli border. The facility, located dozens of meters underground beneath a civilian village, contained approximately 50 Iranian-made explosive unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). These drones were prepared for launch into Israel via hidden shafts built into the hillside. The IDF described the site as an “airbase” and indicated it represented a significant offensive capability for Hezbollah. The discovery comes amid heightened tensions between Israel and Hezbollah. Israeli officials have stated the operation demonstrates Hezbollah’s deliberate placement of military infrastructure within civilian areas, violating international law. The captured drones and facility are currently under IDF control.
