Minister Vincent Karremans recently discussed the current state of the Netherlands' infrastructure during an appearance on Studio Sedee. He revealed that Rijkswaterstaat must postpone asphalt work on several roads due to budget constraints. The Ministry of Infrastructure currently lacks sufficient funds to execute all planned large-scale projects. Consequently, the ministry is being forced to make difficult choices regarding project prioritization. Despite these financial challenges, Karremans dismissed concerns regarding a catastrophic failure. He explicitly stated that a disaster on the scale of the Genoa collapse is not a realistic risk. The Minister concluded that there is no acute danger facing the country's infrastructure.
