Ghana is developing a national EdTech strategy to address the uneven access to digital learning resources across the country. Historically, EdTech initiatives have been fragmented, with disparities in infrastructure and teacher training hindering widespread adoption. Some schools have received laptops, while others lack basic electricity, and advanced applications exist alongside limited digital literacy among educators. A recent discussion on MEST Africa’s YouTube channel, “Leaving No Child Behind: Ghana’s Draft EdTech Strategy,” highlighted this shift towards a more cohesive approach. The new strategy aims to move beyond isolated projects and create a unified vision for integrating technology into education. This initiative seeks to ensure all Ghanaian children have the digital skills necessary for future success, addressing concerns about a growing digital divide. The draft strategy represents a pivotal moment in Ghana’s efforts to leverage technology for educational equity.
