The man suspected of fatally shooting six people at a migrant center in Germany last month has been found dead in his prison cell. Authorities in Lower Saxony state that evidence suggests the 45-year-old suspect died by self-strangulation. He was discovered deceased this morning in a Bremervörde prison, with no indications of foul play. The shooting occurred on June 29th in Stade, targeting a facility housing pregnant women and young mothers with children. The attack stemmed from a dispute over the custody of the suspect’s three-month-old daughter, after doctors suspected the baby was a victim of shaken baby syndrome. The suspect, a German-born man of Turkish nationality, was arrested shortly after the shooting following a chase and was facing multiple murder charges. The mother and baby present during the shooting were unharmed.
