States across the region are failing to adequately prevent and address online gender-based violence, according to recent findings. This violence is reportedly rooted in patriarchal structures and amplified by algorithmic biases. A Model Law is being proposed as a potential framework for protection and intervention. The article highlights a systemic gap in support for victims and a lack of preventative measures. This failure leaves individuals vulnerable to online harassment, threats, and other forms of digital abuse. The proposed Model Law aims to provide a standardized approach to combating this growing problem and ensuring accountability. The report underscores the urgent need for legislative action and increased resources to address the issue effectively.
