President Petr Pavel attended a meeting of the Czech National Security Council, held at the Office of the Government, to continue discussions on the Czech Army’s development concept through 2040. The council had previously been unable to finalize the concept during a meeting in mid-June. Pavel’s attendance also marked a face-to-face meeting with Prime Minister Andrej Babiš prior to the upcoming NATO summit in Ankara. The meeting focused on finalizing the long-term plan for the modernization of the Czech Armed Forces. This gathering signifies an attempt at continued political dialogue between key national leaders. The discussions are crucial as the nation prepares for its commitments at the NATO summit. The session represents ongoing efforts to define the Czech Republic's military strategy for the coming decades.
