A man in Lelystad, Netherlands, has been prohibited by a court from approaching his parents’ home for two years due to repeated threats and violent incidents. The parents sought legal intervention after their son, allegedly involved in criminal activity and struggling with addiction, engaged in eleven incidents of violence and intimidation near their property. These incidents included property damage, assault on a sibling, and suspected firearm possession, culminating in an arrest following a shooting and suspected involvement in an explosion at the residence. The explosion forced the family to temporarily evacuate, with some members sleeping in their car and younger children staying with relatives. The housing corporation considered terminating the parents’ lease due to the ongoing disturbances. The court’s ruling establishes a 50-meter exclusion zone around the family home, with a fine of 500 euros per violation, up to a maximum of 5,000 euros.
