The Colombian organization Fecoer has reported significant obstacles in healthcare access for approximately 17,000 patients with rare diseases affiliated with Nueva EPS, a healthcare provider. These difficulties encompass access to treatments, medical services, and comprehensive care. Fecoer highlighted that 27 cases are currently considered critical due to the lack of timely and appropriate medical attention. The organization alleges persistent barriers are hindering patients’ ability to receive necessary care for their conditions. This situation raises concerns about equitable healthcare provision within the Colombian system. Fecoer is advocating for improved access and a resolution to the ongoing challenges faced by these vulnerable patients. The group seeks to ensure individuals with rare diseases receive the medical support they require.
