China has delivered a substantial food donation to Cameroon, consisting of 880 tons of wheat and 1,630 tons of rice, valued at approximately $2.96 million. The aid was officially received in Douala, the country’s economic hub, during a ceremony led by Cameroon’s Minister of Territorial Administration, Paul Atanga Nji. Three shipments have already arrived at the port of Douala, with the final two expected this Sunday. Minister Nji emphasized that this donation will significantly bolster the government’s efforts to address growing food insecurity within the nation. The Chinese economic and commercial counselor, Xiao Guofeng, highlighted the aid as part of a ten-point action plan stemming from the 2024 Beijing Summit of the China-Africa Cooperation Forum. Both nations reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening their strategic partnership and ongoing collaboration in various sectors.
