A large-scale project in Shanxi province, China’s leading coal-producing region, is now operational, transforming ultra-hard coal waste into usable industrial materials. Located in Gaoping city, the plant currently produces 1,000 tonnes daily of materials like sand and gravel. These materials are intended for use in construction and other industrial applications. The initiative represents a significant stride towards China’s objective of achieving zero waste within its coal industry. Local government reports indicate the project’s successful commencement and ongoing production. This conversion process addresses the challenge of coal waste disposal while simultaneously providing valuable resources. The project demonstrates an innovative approach to resource management and sustainable development within the energy sector.
