Senator Miguel Ángel Calisto is facing accusations of fraud following testimony from his former campaign chief, Roland Cárcamo. Cárcamo alleges Calisto systematically diverted funds from his advisors’ salaries for personal use, a practice dubbed the “quota.” This claim contradicts Cárcamo’s initial statements and implicates Calisto in a scheme similar to one recently investigated involving Senator Camila Flores. Both Cárcamo and his wife, Carla Graf—a former congressional collaborator—testified to the senator retaining portions of advisor paychecks. The alleged scheme involved Calisto consistently seeking ways to obtain state resources. Fast Check obtained exclusive access to Cárcamo’s April testimony which prompted these new allegations.
