Five diamonds, totaling 1.22 carats, have been discovered in the Mahasamund district of Chhattisgarh, India. The diamonds were found during sample testing as part of a diamond exploration project undertaken by NMDC-CMDC Limited. The discovery is being hailed as a significant milestone in the state’s efforts to identify new mineral resources. The diamonds were recovered from bulk samples collected in the Saripali area’s Baloda-Belmundi diamond block. NMDC-CMDC is continuing exploration activities in the region, hoping to further assess the diamond deposit’s viability. This find could potentially boost Chhattisgarh’s economy and position it as a key player in India’s diamond industry. Further investigation will determine the quality and commercial value of the discovered diamonds.
