A joint Bangladeshi-Chinese initiative saw young adventurers and students kayak from Netrokona to Kishoreganj to promote awareness about the preservation of rivers and wetlands. The expedition aimed to highlight the importance of protecting Bangladesh’s vital waterways and wetland ecosystems. Participants, comprised of both Bangladeshi and Chinese youth, undertook the journey as part of a social campaign. The kayak trip served as a visible demonstration of cross-cultural collaboration focused on environmental issues. Organizers hope the expedition will inspire greater public consciousness regarding river and wetland conservation. The event underscores a growing concern for environmental sustainability within both countries and a collaborative approach to addressing it. The initiative, dubbed ‘Bangladesh-China Friendship Kayaking’, seeks to foster a sense of responsibility towards these fragile ecosystems.
