Demolition of the fire-damaged 34th building in Zlín’s former Baťa industrial area has been temporarily halted by the property owner, Cream. Initial demolition work was stopped to assess the structural integrity and feasibility of preserving a portion of the building. The company is consulting with structural engineers and other specialists to determine how to safely separate a section of the building. The goal is to retain this part as an authentic reminder of the building’s history and the original Baťa architecture. This decision signifies a shift towards potential preservation rather than complete removal. The preserved section will serve as a monument to the area’s industrial past. The future of the remaining structure remains undecided pending the expert evaluation.
